Ířşě±¬ÁĎ student-athletes excelled in the classroom during the 2024–2025 academic year, achieving impressive results that earned national recognition. All four athletic programs were recognized as NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year — with each having players recognized as NJCAA Academic All-Americans. “We had 22 individual Academic All-Americans, which is roughly 30 percent of all athletes,” said OCC Athletic Director and Softball Coach Nick Short. “That is a crazy high number.”

In an effort to better serve students and the community during the busy back-to-school season, Wabash Valley College is launching Moonlight Mondays

Ířşě±¬ÁĎ is making it easier than ever for students to prepare for the upcoming semester with Moonlight Mondays — special evening hours dedicated to helping students take care of everything they need to start strong this fall. On Mondays, August 11, 18 and 25, key campus offices will be open from 4 to 8 p.m., giving students more flexibility to register after traditional business hours. Services available include: admissions, advising, the Bookstore, Business Office, Financial Aid, Learning Commons and Records Office.

Mount Carmel, IL â€” Wabash Valley College (WVC) is proud to announce the launch of a new Community Choir class this fall, inviting both students and local residents to come together through the joy of music. Under the direction of Mikayla Beck, the choir will rehearse throughout the semester and perform at The Brubeck Arts Center on Saturday, December 6. The class is open to all who love to sing—whether you're a music major, a seasoned vocalist, or simply someone who enjoys making music with others.

MOUNT CARMEL, IL — Wabash Valley College is excited to welcome students to campus for New Student Orientation on Monday, August 19, at the Brubeck Theatre.

High school students taking dual credit classes at Frontier Community College, Lincoln Trail College, Ířşě±¬ÁĎ, and Wabash Valley College will get the chance to prepare with dual credit orientations. FCC, LTC, and OCC will host in-person sessions, and there will also be virtual sessions. “Dual Credit Orientation is an introduction to what college classes are like,” says IECC Director of Dual Credit Erin Volk. “College classes are a change for high school students, and we want them to be prepared so they can be successful.”

As Lincoln Trail College prepares for the upcoming academic year, students can look forward to a blend of helpful resources and exciting activities designed to set them up for success. The 2025-26 school year kicks off with New Student Orientation on Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event introduces new students to campus life, student support services, and academic expectations.

Sean Stone, a 2025 Lincoln Trail College graduate, is gaining international recognition for his powerful and faith-inspired compositions. His piece "Temptation’s Embrace" recently won the Gold Prize in the London Young Musician (LYM) Original Composition Performance competition and another Gold Prize in the Schubert International Music Competition UK. His work "Lux Invicta" earned Silver Prizes in both competitions. Stone said the recognition took him by surprise.

The Lincoln Trail College Foundation celebrated the newest members of its Hall of Fame and introduced a new honor—the Patrons of the Statesmen—during a heartfelt ceremony recognizing alumni and supporters who have made a lasting impact on the College and its students. This year’s Hall of Fame inductees include brothers Andrew “Andy” Corn and Ryan Corn, along with David Hasty. The College also honored Ken and the late Barb Hohlbaugh as the inaugural Patrons of the Statesmen for their extraordinary commitment to LTC Athletics and student success.
