Lincoln Trail College and Scouting America collaborated on a Merit Badge Fair on September 21. The event gave area Scouts a chance to come to Lincoln Trail College for the day and work on specific merit badges through the help of Lincoln Trail College employees.  President Tona Ambrose says the event came from a United Way meeting in the spring where Noah Olson talked about other similar events and that he was looking for a partner in this area.

Wabash Valley College is thrilled to announce the upcoming addition of the Athletic Training Center, highly anticipated athletic training facility set to open in the summer of 2025.

Mount Carmel, IL – The faculty labor union at Wabash Valley College (WVC) has donated $500 to FRESH, a program that provides free non-perishable food and basic personal items to WVC students in need.

Terry Johnson (’94) was a star athlete at Lincoln Trail College and remains the only athlete to be named All-Conference in baseball and basketball. He is now entering his fourth year as an assistant coach at Purdue. He served as the keynote speaker at the Robinson Mayor’s Breakfast. Mayor Mike Shimer (‘72) asked Johnson to talk about leadership after Shimer gave his annual State of the City address. Johnson mixed together his experiences at Lincoln Trail College with his points about how leadership can be hard and lonely.

Renowned author, storyteller, museum consultant and naturalist Brian “Fox” Ellis will present a special program as John James Audubon at ���챬��. The event, hosted by the Ridgeway Chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society, will be held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 26 in Dr. Kent Wattleworth Hall, Room 203. The program is free and open to the public, including OCC students, faculty and staff.

Illinois Eastern Community Colleges will observe Constitution Day on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 (www.iecc.edu/usa).  The IECC colleges will observe Constitution Day with a variety of activities and resources to promote the study of the Constitution.   The IECC colleges will be participating with various events, please see the college and listing below for specific details.   FCC - Frontier Community College

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, Wabash Valley College held Warrior Day, a meet and greet that introduced the community to the bass fishing and archery club sports teams. This family-friendly event gave attendees the chance to meet the Bass Fishing and Archery teams, learn more about the sports, and enjoy food, snacks, and beverages.

Lincoln Trail College is proud to welcome Abby Holdreith as its new Speech and English Instructor. Holdreith’s path to LTC has been paved with dedication to the field of education. A native of Olney, Illinois, she knew from an early age that she wanted to pursue a career in teaching, inspired by several family members who were administrators. After attending ���챬��, Holdreith graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. From there, she started her teaching career.

The Dhom family has found a common thread in their academic journeys: Lincoln Trail College. LTC has not only shaped their individual paths but has become an integral part of their family narrative.
