LTC, IECC Celebrates Adult Education and Family Literacy Week
September 19th through September 23rd, 2022 is Adult Education and Family Literacy Awareness week. The Illinois Eastern Community College Adult Education Program is committed to helping students succeed and strengthen their communities. By providing students with an opportunity to receive free High School Equivalency classes that focus on academics, college and career readiness, and English as a Second Language classes, IECC offers individuals a chance to reach their goals.

LTC Hosting Flute and Guitar Concert
The Arts at Lincoln Trail College will present an evening of guitar and flute music featuring Michael Patilla and Sophie Kershaw-Patilla. The concert takes place on September 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the Zwermann Arts Center Theater.
The concert features music by William Beauvais, Mauro Giuliani, Nikita Koshkin, Manuel Ponce, Andrew York, and others.

LTC's Welcome Back Blast August 17
Lincoln Trail College will welcome new and returning students back to the College on August 17 with the annual Welcome Back Blast.
“We want students to kick off the year on a high note and see what college life is like at Lincoln Trail College,” said Director of Marketing Chris Forde. “We want to make sure our students have fun during the event and also learn how they can get involved on campus and throughout the community.”

Lincoln Trail College New Student Orientation August 17
The Fall Semester at Lincoln Trail College begins on August 18 and the College will help new students prepare for college at New Student Orientation on August 17.
“We’re giving students some flexibility with orientation this year,” said Director of Marketing Chris Forde. “Instead of having one session, we’re offering students a choice of three different times.”

Lincoln Trail College Prepares for Dual Credit Orientation
High school students taking dual credit classes at Lincoln Trail College will get the chance to prepare with LTC’s Dual Credit Orientation on August 2 at 6 p.m.
“Dual Credit Orientation is an introduction to what college classes are like,” says LTC Director of Instructional Services Erin Volk. “College classes are a change for high school students, and we want them to be prepared so they can be successful.”

LTC Student Finishes 7th in Nation at FBLA Event
Lincoln Trail College’s Mackenzi McIntosh (’22) finished seventh in the nation at the Future Business Leaders of American Collegiate National Leadership Conference in Organizational Behavior and Leadership. The six people that finished ahead of her were all students from four-year universities.

LTC Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Earns Four Awards
Lincoln Trail College’s Alpha Iota Epsilon chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society was recognized at the Illinois Regional Convention and Honors Institute. Lincoln Trail College won awards for its College Project, Honors in Action Project, Outstanding Officer Team, and Outstanding Chapter.
“It is thrilling,” said chapter co-advisor Kim Shucker. “Winning the four awards was such a great testament to the scholarship and service mindedness our students in Phi Theta Kappa! It also awarded them for their abilities to work as a team and support each other.”
