IECC Truck Driving Program Makes Timely Improvements
Infrastructure improvements related to the Truck Driving program at IECC’s West Richland Center are underway thanks to a U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development grant providing $300,000 (50% of the $600,000 total funds). Construction of a concrete ramp and pad that connect to a new loading dock are timely investments as The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts the economy will need more truckers as the demand for goods increases.

WVC Broadcasting Station and Student Nominated for National Awards
Wabash Valley College’s Radio/TV department’s TV station, News Channel 15, has been nominated by the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System for the national award “Best Community College TV Station.” In addition, student Tristan Thomas has been individually nominated in the category “Best Video Sports Report.”

WVC Announces Fall Semester Honors List
Wabash Valley College is pleased to announce its honors list for Fall Semester 2019. To be eligible for the CEO’s Honors list, a student must have a GPA of 3.90–4.0 based on a 4.0 scale and must have been enrolled for at least 12 semester hours for the Fall Semester.

WVC Bass Team to Host High School Bass Fishing Invitational
Wabash Valley College’s bass team will be hosting a high school bass fishing invitational at East Fork Lake in Olney, Illinois, on Saturday, March 21.
The tournament is limited to the first 30 boats to register so early registration is encouraged. Registration will close when the 30-boat limit is met. Those registered by March 1 will receive a free Wabash Valley College Bass t-shirt.

WVC Diesel Technology Program Purchases New Tractors
Wabash Valley College's Diesel Equipment Technology program was awarded funds to purchase eight new tractors to help modernize the program.
