The West Richland Center will be formally renamed and dedicated in honor of former Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Chief Executive Officer Terry Bruce during a ceremony on September 29 at 10:30 a.m.   Bruce served as IECCā€™s CEO for 23 years, retiring in 2019. The Board of Trustees issued a proclamation in June dedicating the West Richland Center to honor Bruceā€™s legacy. ā€œI was very surprised,ā€ said Bruce. ā€œIt was not something I had ever thought about, but Iā€™m very honored.ā€  

Illinois Eastern Community Colleges will observe Constitution Day on Monday, September 18, 2023 (www.iecc.edu/usa).  The IECC colleges will observe Constitution Day with a variety of activities and resources to promote the study of the Constitution.   The IECC colleges will be participating with various events:   FCC - Frontier Community Collegeā€Ø

Lincoln Trail College Theater Director Taylor Dahlberg announced audition information for the Collegeā€™s fall production of God of Carnage. Auditions will take place September 11 and 13 at 6 p.m. each night in the Zwermann Arts Center Theater.

Ķųŗģ±¬ĮĻ Director of Choral Activities Dr. Andrew Pittman is excited to announce that the OCC Community Choir will start its 13th season with rehearsals at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12. After a fantastic performance of Vivaldiā€™s Gloria last year with orchestra, the OCC Community Choir will return with some lighter fare of Holiday Pop tunes and traditional favorites.

Ķųŗģ±¬ĮĻ will host its 60th Anniversary Celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6 on the Student Union Patio. Guest speakers will include OCCā€™s newly installed President and Vice Chancellor for Business Operations Chris Simpson, Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Retired CEO Terry Bruce and Olney Mayor Mark Lambird.

A new chapter in musical exploration unfolded as the first-ever music camp, under the guidance of Dennis Stroughmatt and directed by Doug Hawf, brought together a diverse group of 41 participants ranging from ages 6 to 80. This unique event provided an opportunity for attendees to delve into the world of music, learn new instruments, and create lasting memories.  

The excitement of starting college is a mix of emotions, from anticipation to anxiety. At WVC the journey begins with New Student Orientation, a crucial event that eases the transition into campus life. This year's orientation will be held on August 16th, the day before classes start, after careful consideration to strike a balance between confidence-building time and practical preparation.  

Wabash Valley College is experiencing a powerful transformation with the addition of three remarkable coaches who are poised to reshape the athletic landscape. The college has proudly welcomed Terrance McGee, Rachel Refenes, and Jade Montgomery, each bringing unique experiences, expertise, and a shared passion for excellence to their respective teams.  

Tona Ambrose has been named the new President at Lincoln Trail College. She will also serve as the Vice Chancellor of Institutional Outreach (VCIO) for Illinois Eastern Community Colleges (IECC). Ambrose is the 12th President in Lincoln Trail Collegeā€™s history.
